Holy guacamole!! This place is delicious! We were surprised when we walked in by how small it was. And glad we made a reservation ahead of time! First, the chips are so good! They have some sort of seasoning on them that really tales them up a notch. We were a table of six and got a variety of foods, everyone loved theirs. Very attentive service and the food came out fast. One mistake was made in our order and the food was remade incredibly quickly. Can't beleive we have lived down the street from this place for so long and never been!!! Definitely try this place if your in Carmichael, it's better than the other Mexican restaurants in the immediate vicinity
I opened my eyes disoriented... Confused... surrounded by the sounds of ambient chatter... Unable to focus... I look up to see this face with a flower in its mouth... Was it an Aztecan god? Was I to be sacrificed to appease it? Without hesitation, I offered it something more valuable than my life.... I offered it water... The true source of life. As we shared in the refreshing liquid, my senses returned and I felt safe under the protection of Rey Azteca
This place is a hidden gem. It is one of 2 Ra Azteca locations and this location is in what is a converted gas station. The place always feels like home. Carlos is our usual server and bartender when we stop in. The entire staff is wonderful. Very responsive, always glad to see us. They are known for their delicious margaritas and fresh food. They do not open until 3 pm each day. My favorite dish is a carnitas chimichanga but today I had the chili relleno. So good. The chips and salsa just keep on coming. It's just down the street from our house and some of the best Mexican food you will find anywhere. Consistent and wonderful food and service. Well earned 5 stars. This place is a local favorite. Everybody we have brought here always remember how good it is and just can't stop talking about it. It is a "must try" if you are in search of a great Mexican dinner.
Ordered delivery for the first time. The food was great especially the meat. We ordered the mega wet burritos. They were huge and a lot of flavor.
